Volvo CE, Training--New Technical Training Centre opens for Volvo CE

Volvo Construction Equipment Division, Volvo Group UK Ltd has formally opened a new Technical Training Centre at its head office based at Duxford in Cambridgeshire, more than doubling training capacity. Despite the economic downturn, Volvo has continued to invest in training and technical support for its customers, with more than ?200,000 being spent on creating two full size training workshops, a component workshop and two interactive classrooms. "We have the capacity now to take a fresh look at training," says engineering manager Martyn Brawn. "This year we will be looking to increase the amount of technical training given to all of our engineers, from 1.9 weeks a year to three weeks per person." The company will also be able to offer customers the opportunity to have their own service engineers trained by Volvo trainers, providing an invaluable technical resource for larger fleets.
