JCB, Brazil, backhoe loader--JCB Opens New Brazil Plant

JCB is continuing to build up its presence in Latin America with the opening of its newest factory in Brazil and the doubling of its backhoe loader production capacity there.

The U.K. company said the first 20 tonne machine has just rolled off the line at the new facility next to JCB’s existing backhoe loader factory in Sorocaba. The JS200LC tracked excavator was purchased by Jorcal Engenharia E Construções S/A, a company based in Sao Paulo. The investment in Brazil follows the opening of a new £40 million tracked and wheeled excavator factory in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, U.K.

JCB said it has also recently doubled its backhoe loader production capacity in Brazil to help meet demand for machines in the region.
