Hitachi, Malaysia--Hitachi to continue growing local mart

Kuala Lumpur: Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd, aims to continue growing the Malaysian market in terms of revenue for the Asia Pacific region over the next few years.

Hitachi Data Systems Pte Ltd's Vice President and General Manager, Asean, Ravi Rajendran sees Malaysia as an interesting market, as it is currently among the top three revenue generating countries for the company regionally.

"We have a very strong team with a good list of customers.

All we have to do is just continue to serve them well and grow new customers," he told reporters here, after a media briefing on data centre transformation Thursday.

At the same time, Hitachi Data Systems Corporation also introduced the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP), the industry's first three-dimensional scaling platform.

The platform enables organisations to scale up, out and deep for unprecedented levels of agility and cost savings, in their virtualised data centres. Managing Director of Hitachi Data Systems Sdn Bhd, Johnson Khoo, hopes the newly launched scaling platform will grow the company's market share for next year.

"What is important is to let people understand the importance of data management."

With unique 3D scaling and management, customers can deliver capacity and computing resources as quickly as virtual servers are created," he said.

The VSP, in combination with the new Hitachi Command Suite management software, offers best-in-class performance, capacity and open, multivendor storage virtualisation for large businesses and enterprise organisations.- Bernama
