Daimler, China--Daimler's China sales may exceed 10% in 2011

Oct. 26, 2010  - Daimler AG, a German auto producer, hopes that its sales in China may increase more than 10% in 2011, and China is expected to become Mercedes-Benz unit's biggest market by 2015, said CEO Dieter Zetsche.

This year, Daimler, based in Stuttgart, Germany, aims to sell 120,000 cars from the previous forecast of 100,000 units in China, and the firm's China sales in September reached 13,500 autos, an amount 98% more than that of the same month of 2009, Zetsche added.

On Oct. 11, Daimler said that its sales of Mercedes-Benz totaled 101,350 units in the first nine months.

Daimler also plans to invest a total of EUR 3 billion in China by 2015 and hopes to sell around 300,000 sedans in the country in the same year.
