Yanmar SV100-1, excavator--Revamped Yanmar SV100-1

Yanmar has revamped its SV100 midi-excavator with the release of the SV100-1. The new model gains around 400kg in operating weight, to 9,625kg, to improve stability and allow an increased lifting capacity of 4.7t at 3m. It has a Stage 3B Yanmar 57.6kW engine with exhaust gas recirculation, an Eco mode that reduces engine speed while maintaining the same torque and an Auto-Idle function which kicks in if the controls are not used for four seconds.

When combined with the new VIPPS hydraulic system, the SV100-1 is 20% more efficient than its predecessor in terms of fuel used per m³ excavated and 26% better in Eco mode. Upgrades include an automatic high/low gear shift, a new swing motor with 11% more torque. The cab is 170mm wider offering 40% more room and a 30% larger foot space while the internal noise level has more than halved to 74dB(A) and air conditioning is now standard. The price premium above the outgoing model is expected to be in the region of 5-6%.
