Cat, compact, track loader--Cat New Compact Track Loader

Caterpillar has added the vertical-lift 259B Series 3 to its compact track loader range. The 259B3's design mates Cat's small-frame CTL platform with its 53kW C3.4T DIT engine which produces a highly maneuverable machine with high breakout forces and strong auxiliary hydraulic performance. It has an independent, fully-suspended steel undercarriage that is unique in its class and comes with 320mm or 400mm wide steel-embedded rubber tracks for working in poor soils and harsh environments.

Weighing just over 4t, the machine has a rated capacity of 937kg at 35% tipping load (or 1.3t at 50%) and its two-speed drive system provides 9.5 and 13.6 km/h travel speeds. Vertical-lift loader linkage gives the 259B3 a lift height of just above 3m. It comes with pilot controls and an open ROPS canopy (with top and rear windows) that can be specified with a cab door, side windows, suspension seat, heater and air conditioning. A redesigned dead-engine lower valve is easier-to-use if the machine runs out of fuel or the engine stalls with the arms raised and allows the bucket to be lowered for safe operator exit.
