SANY /SANY America Celebrates Phase One Completion of Georgia Facility

SANY America announces completion of Phase One of construction of the company's assembly facility located in Peachtree City — less than a year since breaking ground for the project. A ceremony marking this milestone will be held Monday, February 28, at the Peachtree City facility in Fayette County. SANY America is the first U.S. branch of SANY Group Co. Ltd., which is headquartered in Hunan Province, China.

Officials from both state and local government, as well as high-ranking Chinese representatives will be participating in the ceremony and include Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and Peachtree City Mayor Don Haddix. The Chinese officials will include Qiang Zhou, governor of Hunan Province, Wengen Liang, chairman of SANY Group Ltd. Yanping Gao, consul general of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston will also be participating as keynote speakers. Other officials from Hunan Province will also be in attendance.

“The completion of SANY America’s facility signifies a new milestone in SANY’s globalization initiative. This will bring SANY’s philosophy of 'Quality Changes the World' to the next level. The new facility will enable the company to provide the North American market and the other global customers with superior products and services,” said Wengen Liang, chairman of SANY Group Ltd.

Phase One construction of the 420,000-square foot facility began in June 2010 and officials estimate a total investment to-date of $60 million. SANY America currently employs 108 people and expects to double its staff by the end of 2012.

Besides the U.S. location in Georgia, other SANY facilities include five industrial parks in China and R&D and manufacturing/assembly locations in Germany, India and Brazil.

The Georgia facility will eventually include provisions for assembly of five different types of construction machinery including the "RT" (the SANY Global Rough Terrain Crane). The RT is the first North American-specific product developed through a collaborative design effort between its parent company (the SANY Group Ltd.) and SANY North America.

Besides the rough terrain cranes, the Peachtree City facility will also include assembly of crawler cranes, excavators, motor graders and concrete pump trucks. SANY officials say plans call for assembly and production to begin later this year. As the U.S. headquarters, the Peachtree City SANY America facility will also include R&D, sales, service, and distribution operations as well.
