Sany America appoints distributor DC Bates Equipment

Sany America, which markets hydraulic excavators, concrete pump trucks, port machinery, rough terrain cranes and crawler cranes, has appointed a new dealer in the Eastern US, DC Bates Equipment of Hopedale, Massachusetts. DC Bates Equipment will expand Sany’s markets within the bridge, power and general contracting sectors. Until it became a Sany dealer, DC Bates Equipment’s business focused on knuckle boom and aerial lift equipment, primarily within markets for railroad, utilities and precast concrete. Selling new lines of Sany rough terrain and crawler cranes, DC Bates will have the added ability to serve bridge work, power plant work, and crane rental markets. “We are honored that DC Bates chose Sany to grow their line of hoisting machinery. Coupled with their success in the material lifting market, our crawler and rough terrain cranes will help them become a one-stop shop for hoisting solutions,” said Kirk Erlinger, director of dealer development at Sany America. Don Bates, owner of DC Bates Equipment, said, “When we began looking to enter the market for larger cranes, Sany demonstrated their commitment to serving customers in the US. “Their facility in Georgia lets you know they’re here to stay, and we are looking forward to a long relationship distributing their products,” Bates said. Sany America’s new facility in Peachtree City, Georgia contains a 400,000ft corporate headquarters and a manufacturing location. The company plans to expand the facility with a $25m R&D centre. When complete, the site will employ 300 hydraulic and mechanical engineers.
