Scania to deliver 435 trucks to Zoomlion

Swedish truckmaker Scania has won an order from China-based concrete pump manufacturer Zoomlion for delivery 435 more trucks for its mobile concrete pumps. The truckmaker said that the recent trucks, which are in addition to the 375 trucks ordered in January will be delivered before the end of June. Scania Chinese sales company managing director Peter Sjöblom said that the deliveries to Zoomlion alone mean that the company's sales volume during the first quarter of 2012 is at about as high as during the full year 2011. "Scania's strong position as a supplier of trucks to the premium segment for concrete pumps also represents a success for our entire organisation's cross-functional working method," Sjöblom said. The company said that it's truck chassis have been customised to facilitate and streamline Zoomlion's work of fitting the trucks with equipment, superstructures. Zoomlion's mobile concrete pumps, which are used in the construction of high-rise buildings and bridges, are mounted on Scania's trucks which are equipped with 6-cylinder 420-470 hp engines.
