Overview:
Parker Cement mixers were experiencing valve leakage when temperatures got low. The valve leakage was significant enough to be heard when standing near the vehicle. The engineering manager was dissatisfied with the current supplier's valve performance.
Solution
Parker provided a valve system that would outperform the competition in cold temperatures. To prove superiority, the Pneumatic Division performed a lab test to quantify leakage by comparing the current supplier's valve, supplied by the customer, against the Viking Xtreme valve. The leakage rates were significantly different at low temperatures.
